I was thrilled when Amy asked me to be her wedding florist; we had met on many wedding set up’s when she was working for Lemon Zest and I was always greeted with a warm hug and a cheery smile from the lovely Amy. So when it was Amy’s & Chris’s turn to plan their big day, I knew it would be wonderful and the relaxed, laid back approach to their festival style wedding didn’t disappoint!

Huge thanks to Binky Nixon for sharing her stunning images, super talent at it’s very best!

Amy and Chris had planned to marry at their local church in the pretty Northamptonshire village of Helmdon. Amy looked absolutely glorious in her Ellis Bridal Dress which she sourced from the lovely ladies at Fairytale Weddings in Northamptonshire. Chris and the boys looked so dapper in their blue suits from Peter Posh Suits whilst Francesca Marie worked her magic with Amy & the girls whose hair and make up was perfect for a super, relaxed laid back wedding.

Amy was undecided about the florals initially but once she knew the girls would be wearing a pale dusky, sky blue it all came together with a little input from me! I promised loose, laid back, blousy bouquets which was a joy for us. Given Amy & Chris had chosen June for their wedding, we just had to let peonies take centre stage (as they love to do) together with some soft peach “Juliet” roses, scabious, pale blue delphiniums and lots of textured foliage and ferns. We loved the overall summery feel and with a last minute brief from Amy to “go large” for her bouquet, we did just that!

The wedding reception had a chilled, festival vibe and was held in a marquee at the beautiful Evenley Wood Gardens, Northamptonshire with an informal meal from the legendary Pieminister. We laid loose olive, eucalyptus and stephanotis down the tables, together with a variety of aged brass candlesticks for a simple but stylish table setting. The talented Warren Day Designs painted an old door for the table plan which looked beautiful nestled in the woods.

There were so many wonderful touches from the fire pit to the paper confetti strings & dream catchers hung from the trees; the cosy sofa & rugs and the most enormous hanging drape painted with the words “Best Day Ever”. The highlight of the “FilbFest” was the stage built in the Woods for Chris and his many musician friends to perform and entertain the night away. Quite simply, it was a “dream’ of a wedding.

Huge congratulations Amy & Chris, thank you so much for choosing us, we loved every minute and would very happily do it all again! We wish you a life of absolute happiness and joy.

Much love, Joules & the girls xxx
